Charity Gates is a pediatric nurse practitioner, board certified in primary care, who has been in healthcare for more than 20 years. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University (TCU) in 2011. After graduation she completed a pediatric nurse residency program where she gained extensive experience in medical/surgical, emergency, trauma, and intensive care. She returned to graduate school in 2017 at Texas Tech University Health Science Center where she completed her Master of Science in Nursing and then became board certified as a pediatric nurse practitioner.
Charity enjoys focusing on wellness and the prevention of injury and disease. She looks forward to partnering with patients and families and celebrating the developmental milestones with them as well as meeting acute care needs during times of illness or injury. She has a special interest in adolescent health and helping children reach their full potential during these formative years.
Charity is married and has two girls, ages 13 and 22. Her oldest daughter, Jordan, graduates from the University of North Texas with a criminal justice degree in May 2021 and will start her career in law enforcement. Her youngest daughter, Catie, is an 8th grader at Wayside Middle School and is an avid competitive dancer. She has danced since she was 18 months old. Charity enjoys spending her free time traveling with her husband, spending time with her family and watching Catie dance. She also enjoys running marathons and cheering on her TCU Horned Frogs. Charity is very excited to join the Child Plus Pediatrics medical team.
